Auto sales in US in the month of July rose by 1% compared to previous year’s July. This is due to increased demand for crossover light and fuel efficient vehicles. Many brands got more sales from their non-premium models.
The recorded sales of General Motors for July month is 2,14,915 vehicles with 8% sales growth compared to last year. The company has said that, the fuel efficient model Chevrolet Cruze has recorded good sales and this is responsible for its overall growth.
Ford motors recorded good sales for July month by selling 1,80,865 vehicles along with 9% sales growth. The officials from the company have said that due to increased productivity they were able to reach their customers demand and with their fuel efficient cars and utilities they have reached the customers expectations.
Chrysler group LLC reported that they had good sales for July month. They sold 12,026 vehicles with 20% sales growth. Toyota and Honda motors have struggled in July month, Toyota sold 1,30,802 vehicles with 19.7% decreased sales growth for July month and Honda motors sold 80,502 vehicles with 25.6% decreased sales growth in July.
Volkswagen sold 29,066 vehicles with 21.7% sales growth, Nissan motors sold 77,191 vehicles with 604% sales growth and Hyundai, fastest growing brand in US has recorded their sales 59,561 vehicles with 10% sales growth.
Except for very few brands, all the other brands have performed very good for the July month. We can expect these few brands also to improve their sales in August.
