US Advertising Market: 2009

According to the IAB US Online Advertising report, there is continuous and significant growth in Internet on comparison with other media.

  • In US market share, TV distribution continues to be in the leading position which is $26.2 billions.
  • The second place is taken by News papers, which is $24.6billions in US market share.
  • The Internet occupies 3rd place in US Market share, which is $22.7 billions.
  • The top 10 ad selling companies continue to remain concentrated on online advertising. This accounted for 71 percent of total revenues in Q4 of 2009, which was down slightly from 72 percent as in Q4 of 2008.
  • 11 percent of revenues for Q4 of 2009 were accounted by 11 to 25 ranked companies on comparison to the 12 percent as in Q4 of 2008.
  • The companies which were ranked from 26 to 50 accounted for 8 percent in both 2008 and 2009.
  • As per the report, the United States internet advertising revenue was $22.7 billion in 2009. The internet advertising revenues faced a decrease of 3.4 percent over 2008.

Thus, the consumers by seeing statistics can decide which car is the best according to the number of units sold and even some of the websites will provide the best costs for the used cars.

Many People are Using Mobile Internet – comScore

The number of people who use mobile are increased twice in the year of 2009 when we compare to the year 2008, according to comScore report. They are using these mobile devices to access the news and information on the internet.

News and information are accessed by 63.2 million people on their mobile devices in the month of January 2009 and they are accessed by 22.4 million people daily. This number is more than twice of the audience of the last year 2008. According to comScore, 107 percent increase in people using mobiles to access news and internet daily. By this we can say, there is growth in importance of the mobile medium because users are depending on their mobile phones to access information.

Day by day, accessing of the social networking and blogging by users is increasing and there is much growth in downloaded applications as well like because of this growth in news and information usage. The accessing of social networking site and blog increased by 427 percent from 2008 to 2009.

News and information was accessed by 22.3 million people through the downloaded application in the month of the January. 8.2 million users downloaded maps, it is most popular downloaded application among them. SMS was used by 32.4 million people to access the news and information in the month of January.

Most of the users who show the enthusiasm to use mobile news and information are young males with half of 18 to 34 year old males engaged in that activity. Females with the age of 18 to 24 also used this mobile internet. 40 percent of them were accessing it.

In this way mobile devices are used by many people, not only for one purpose for many purposes like access the news and information and maps, etc.

Despite Slowdown E-Commerce At Pace Retail

E-commerce is the emerging trend of shopping in current world and many number of people prefer this style. This shopping style suffered a lot during the recession period and that incident led to shift in e-commerce existence.

According to analyst, in the recession time, it seemed that e-commerce is coming to an end. But in 2009, e-commerce managed to oppose the recession which dragged down the rest of retail formats with a final growth of 11% i.e. $155.2 billion noticed. Though this growth is very slow at least the pace of e-commerce is positive. According to the research of firm prediction, e-commerce of America will further grow up to 11%.

In previous year, online shopping growth was more than 20% per year. According to Forrester, 52% of all computer hardware, software and peripherals are bought online last year but growth in online sales of those products is likely to be slow considerably this year. According to Forrester’s e-commerce analyst high levels of growth is still remaining.

According to e-commerce analyst, in 2010, e-commerce will account for 7% of all U.S. shopping, excluding auto, travel, and prescription drugs and it could go high to 20% someday in future. As per the current condition every decision is blurry in nature. So, only a fresh decision could help to get success in coming time.

Hence, coming future can predict better and growing online marketing. A better and effective planning will definitely help to build that hope of growth. But in coming world no can predict which retailing will be more stable.
