Why Safety Glow Sticks are Excellent Sources for Emergencies

Filed under: Technology — Tags: — Winson @ 8:15 AM

Emergency is a situation in which everything seems to be unavailable and when everybody are in a confused state. If it happens during the day time its not a big problem. But when it comes to night time the situations becomes even worse due to the lack of electricity. There are many other major alternatives for electricity like the flashlights and other things which will use other sources of energy like the batteries. But now safety sticks are found to be more efficient than the existing ones for many reasons. Let us see what they are.

  • The size and weight of the glow sticks make them comfortable tools to carry to any place with out much effort. If we carry a couple of them also it is very easy as they do not occupy much space and are of light weight.
  • Moreover these sticks are much safer. They are not fragile and in case of LED glow sticks it is much more easy as they avoid the fear of breaking and leaking of chemicals as we generally find in other chemical glow sticks.
  • They are wind proof, water proof, flame resistant and hence are safe in any severe climatic conditions and hazardous areas. They can be taken underwater and are also more functional in the situations after natural calamities.
  • Besides all these, they are the most inexpensive things when compared to all the other alternatives of light. They have a longer shelf life and are much functional and work continuously for a minimum of 8-12 hours with out any interruption.
  • The light emitted by these safety sticks is enough to light up the particular space and hence avoids the wastage of unnecessary energy.

The above said benefits make clear the fact that glows ticks are efficient lighting tools in case of emergency situations.

Know about Millimeter-Sized Computer

Filed under: Technology — Tags: — Winson @ 8:20 AM

A team of engineers and scientists at the university of Michigan has made a world’s smallest computer whose size is just one millimeter, it is a solar powered device and it is designed to go easily in to the human eye.

According to engineers of Michigan, it includes an ultra low power microprocessor, mini battery, a solar cell and little memory with wireless chip. Once the device is implanted in the human eye it would work as a remedy for glaucoma, which is a disease that causes damage to optic nerves due to the pressure from the eye and it can lead to permanent blindness. It is difficult to monitor.

According to the information, it can measure the eye pressure for every 15 minutes and it stores the information. It can be kept charged for 1.5 hours from natural sunlight or 10 hours from indoor light. The device consumes 5.3 nanowatts power. We can shut down it when we are not using. The components in the computer work even with low power and fit on the chip easily.

Laser Marking System Now in Manufacturing Industries

Filed under: Technology — Tags: — Winson @ 8:18 AM

Laser marking is a method of using laser to engrave or mark on the object. Laser marking system result in permanent marking on the object. This is an innovative and advanced technique and is used mostly in manufacturing industries. Laser engrave system’s main advantage is there is no need to replace the bit heads at regular intervals of time. These systems are available in wide range which is useful to many industries like plastic and metal and other manufacturing industries.

These systems are more reliable and more environmental friendly. This system works fast and easy providing high quality results. The laser system can be used to engrave on all the surfaces like stainless steel, gold, silver, platinum, aluminum and many others. In commercial products manufacturing industries laser system is used for producing quality products that can be molded easily in to a shape and can be easily marked.

The process of engraving includes engraving, modifying and prototyping testing. It is highly penetrating through all metal surfaces, hence it is easy to engrave all metal surfaces with in a short period of time. Many industries are using the laser engraving system in their production process for quality output. Industries are getting more benefits by using laser engraving system.

Different Types of Screen Less Computing Systems

Filed under: Technology — Tags: — Winson @ 5:55 AM

Screen less video is a term which describes the system for transmitting visual information from a video source without the use of a screen. Screen less computing systems can be divided in to three types which are described below:

Retinal Display:
These are one of the screen less displays in which images are projected directly on to the retina. The light is not reflected from some intermediate object as in the visual image system but the it is directly projected on to retina. Even though computer works at the public places, with the use of this system it provides privacy because most snooping relies on viewing the same light as the person who is legitimately viewing the screen, and retinal direct systems send light only into the pupils of their intended viewer.

Visual Image:
It includes any screen less image that the eye can perceive. In the visual image screen less display systems light is reflected off some intermediate object before it reaches the retina but in the case of LCD panels the light is refracted from the back of the panel. Examples of the visual image screen less display are hologram, virtual reality goggles and heads up display in jet fighters.

Synaptic Interface:
Light is not used in this type of screen less video and the visual information is directly transmitted to the brain and it bypasses the eye. These systems are not implemented in humans but they had proved to be success in sampling usable video signals from the biological eyes of a living horse shoe crab through their optic nerves.

Screen less computing systems are very advanced technology and these are yet to be widespread among common people.
